Material Handler
– Norfolk, VA
Shift - 9 am to 5 pm
Pay = $15 an hour
Job Summary:
The Material Handler is responsible for handling all aspects of shipping and receiving operations, ensuring accuracy, efficiency, and compliance with company standards. This role requires attention to detail, strong organizational skills, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare, pack, and label products for shipment according to company and carrier guidelines.
- Verify and document incoming and outgoing shipments against purchase orders and shipping manifests.
- Maintain accurate inventory records and perform regular cycle counts.
- Collaborate with carriers and vendors to schedule pickups and resolve shipping issues.
- Ensure compliance with safety protocols and maintain a clean, organized work area.
- Assist with receiving, inspecting, and storing incoming materials.
- Support team goals by meeting daily productivity and quality standards.
- Other tasks as assigned
Qualifications:
- Previous experience in warehouse operations required.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and stand for extended periods.
- Familiarity with inventory systems and shipping software a plus.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Must be able to pass a background check and drug test
