Quality Technician – Day Shift (Suffolk, VA)
PeopleShare is now hiring an experienced Quality Technician for a growing food‑manufacturing facility in Suffolk! This is a temp‑to‑hire opportunity with full‑time hours, stable scheduling, and on‑site training provided.

About the Role
We are seeking someone with previous Quality Assurance experience — ideally in food manufacturing — who can step in quickly, learn the facility’s processes, and provide strong support to the QA Supervisor. This person will play a key role in maintaining product quality, ensuring compliance, and helping lighten the supervisor’s workload.
Key Responsibilities
Inspect incoming raw materials (such as peanuts) for moisture, color, defects, and foreign material
Perform in‑process quality checks on roasting, shelling, blanching, grinding, and packaging lines
Conduct finished product inspections: labels, seals, lids, lot codes, best‑by dates, and packaging integrity
Complete sampling for micro‑testing, allergen swabs, ATP/environmental monitoring, and metal detector/X‑ray checks
Identify and tag non‑conforming materials; assist with hold/rework procedures
Maintain accurate documentation including inspection sheets, calibration logs, and test results
Support corrective actions and root‑cause investigations when quality issues arise
Ensure QA equipment is calibrated and functioning properly
Participate in sanitation and pre‑operational inspections
Follow all GMP, HACCP, PPE, and facility safety protocols
Assist with continuous improvement efforts to reduce waste and defects
Provide additional support to the QA Supervisor by taking on routine tasks and helping streamline daily operations
Requirements
Previous QA experience required
Food manufacturing QA experience is a major plus
High school diploma or equivalent
Strong attention to detail and documentation accuracy
Ability to perform basic testing and interpret results
Comfortable working in a production environment: standing, climbing, lifting 25–50 lbs
Strong communication skills and ability to work independently or with a team
Computer proficiency required — must be comfortable with data entry, documentation, and Excel
Familiarity with GMP/HACCP or food safety standards preferred
