Senior Procurement Specialist – Maritime Supply Chain
Location: Baltimore, MD, 21230
Schedule: Full-Time | Monday–Friday | 9:00 AM – 5:00 PM
Assignment Type: 6-Month Contract (Potential for Permanent Hire)
Pay: Negotiable - Starting at $32/hour, more depending on experience
About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Senior Procurement Specialist with a strong background in maritime purchasing and global supply chain operations. This role will support vessel maintenance and operational readiness by managing the procurement of marine equipment, spare parts, consumables, and technical services.

What You’ll Do as a Senior Procurement Specialist:
Source and procure marine equipment, spare parts, consumables, and technical services
Build and maintain strong vendor relationships worldwide
Negotiate pricing, terms, and annual contracts
Analyze requisitions and evaluate vendor quotations
Create and manage purchase orders through fulfillment
Coordinate delivery logistics to global port locations
Ensure procurement activities comply with maritime safety and regulatory standards
Track supplier performance, manage warranties, and resolve order issues
Work closely with vessel and marine operations personnel
Maintain accurate procurement records in ERP/sourcing systems
Support cost-saving initiatives and process improvements
What We’re Looking For in a Senior Procurement Specialist:
Education and/or Experience Needed:
- Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Maritime Studies, Marine Engineering, or related field
- 8+ years of procurement or purchasing experience (If no degree)
- Maritime or shipping industry experience strongly preferred
Skills & Knowledge
Familiarity with marine equipment, vessel operations, maritime terminology
Strong negotiation and supplier management skills
Experience with international logistics and import/export requirements
Ability to manage workload independently in a fast-paced environment
Proficiency with procurement or ERP systems (e.g., ShipServ, ShipNet, Oracle)
Excellent communication skills; additional language fluency a plus
