Quality Assurance Warehouse Inspector
Schedule: Monday-Friday with occasional Saturdays and overtime as needed
Employment Type: Full-Time
Pay Rate: $20.00-$23.00 per hour (based on experience)
Work Environment: Ambient dry food warehouse and quality office. Warehouse is not temperature-controlled.
Position Summary
We are seeking a detail-oriented and dependable Quality Assurance Warehouse Inspector to join our team. This role is responsible for ensuring incoming products, warehouse conditions, and food safety practices meet company and regulatory standards. The ideal candidate possesses strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced warehouse environment.
This position plays a critical role in maintaining product quality, food safety compliance, and accurate documentation while supporting continuous improvement initiatives throughout the facility.
Key Responsibilities
- Inspect inbound trailers, pallets, cases, packaging, labels, lot codes, expiration dates, barcodes, and overall product condition.
- Verify products meet approved specifications, including appearance, weight, packaging, labeling, allergen requirements, shelf life, pH, and Brix measurements.
- Conduct product sampling, perform basic testing procedures, and prepare samples for external laboratory analysis.
- Monitor warehouse sanitation, pest activity, storage practices, product rotation, and facility conditions to ensure food safety compliance.
- Perform GMP, sanitation, allergen control, food defense, facility, and product-condition inspections.
- Review and maintain quality records, including Certificates of Analysis (COAs), Bills of Lading (BOLs), inspection reports, labels, photographs, and traceability documentation.
- Identify, segregate, document, and report damaged, contaminated, expired, mislabeled, short-dated, or otherwise non-conforming products.
- Assist with investigations, corrective actions, internal audits, traceability exercises, employee training, and continuous improvement programs.
- Communicate quality concerns and compliance issues to management in a timely manner.
- Maintain accurate records and documentation in accordance with company policies and food safety standards.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality standards.
- Ability to accurately complete documentation and maintain records.
- Basic computer proficiency, including data entry and recordkeeping.
- Strong communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced warehouse environment.
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
Preferred Qualifications
- Associate's or Bachelor's degree, technical training, or coursework in:
- Food Science
- Microbiology

- Previous experience in:
- Quality Control (QC)
- Quality Assurance (QA)
- Food Safety
- Receiving Inspection
- Warehouse Inspection
- Knowledge of food safety standards and quality systems.
- Certifications or training in:
- HACCP
- GMP
- SQF
- BRCGS
- PCQI
- ISO 22000
- Internal Auditing
- Forklift experience.
- Bilingual English/Spanish skills.
