About the Role
As an Employee Benefits Advisor, you will be responsible for developing and managing a portfolio of small- to mid-sized business clients. You'll serve as a trusted advisor to business owners, HR leaders, and C-suite executives by helping them design and implement competitive employee benefits programs that attract and retain top talent.
This position offers mentorship, sales training, and a proven sales process to help you build a successful book of business and achieve long-term growth.
Key Responsibilities
✅ Generate new business opportunities through networking, referrals, prospecting, and relationship building
✅ Identify and qualify potential clients within the small-to-mid-market business sector
✅ Conduct consultative sales meetings with business owners, HR professionals, and executive leadership teams
✅ Present customized employee benefits solutions and insurance proposals
✅ Build and maintain a profitable book of business
✅ Develop strategic relationships within the local business community
✅ Utilize a proven sales process to move prospects through the sales cycle
✅ Work collaboratively with internal teams and experienced industry mentors
✅ Deliver exceptional client service and ongoing account management support
Qualifications
✔ Active Virginia Insurance License required
✔ Proven B2B outside sales experience with a consultative selling approach
✔ Strong prospecting, networking, and relationship-building skills
✔ Hunter mentality with a drive to win new business
✔ Excellent communication, presentation, and negotiation skills
✔ Ability to build credibility with business owners and executive decision-makers
✔ Self-motivated and goal-oriented professional
✔ Bachelor's Degree preferred
✔ Experience selling to Human Resources professionals is a plus
✔ Prior employee benefits experience is helpful but not required
