About the Opportunity
PeopleShare is seeking an experienced and client-focused Senior Client Advisor for a leading insurance and financial services organization in Virginia Beach, VA. This role is ideal for a benefits professional who thrives on building strong client relationships, delivering strategic guidance, and ensuring the successful administration of employee benefit programs.
The Senior Client Advisor will serve as a trusted business partner to clients, helping them navigate complex benefits-related matters while providing exceptional service and support.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage and retain a book of employee benefits clients, ensuring a high level of client satisfaction and service excellence.
- Serve as the primary point of contact between clients, employees, insurance carriers, and internal teams.
- Oversee employee benefit programs including medical, dental, vision, life, and disability insurance plans.
- Coordinate benefit enrollments, plan changes, terminations, and ongoing administration activities.
- Prepare and deliver client presentations, proposals, renewal analyses, and benefit communication materials.
- Partner with producers to support new business opportunities and client retention efforts.
- Negotiate with insurance carriers to obtain competitive pricing and plan design solutions.
- Resolve complex client issues related to billing, eligibility, coverage, and claims administration.
- Maintain accurate client records and documentation in accordance with company standards.
- Monitor industry trends, carrier updates, and regulatory changes impacting employee benefits.
- Ensure compliance with ERISA, Section 125 regulations, and IRS reporting requirements, including Forms 1095 and 5500.
- Identify opportunities to expand services and strengthen client relationships.
- Recommend and implement process improvements to enhance operational efficiency and client experience.
Qualifications
Required
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Minimum of 5 years of recent experience in employee benefits, group insurance, or commercial lines account management.
- Active Health & Life Insurance License or ability to obtain and maintain licensure.
- Strong knowledge of:
- Employee benefits administration
- ERISA regulations
- Section 125 plans
- IRS reporting requirements, including Forms 1095 and 5500
- Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.
- Exceptional communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
Preferred
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Human Resources, Finance, or a related field.
- Experience working directly with employers and insurance carriers in a consultative capacity.

Work Environment
