We are seeking a reliable Finishing Operator to join our team on 2nd shift. This role is essential to ensuring high‑quality finished products and smooth production flow. Candidates should be comfortable working in a manufacturing environment and performing a mix of machine operation, packing, inspection, and material handling tasks.
Pay: $19.75/hr Location: Cranbury, NJ
Schedule: Monday–Friday, 2:00pm–10:30pm
Primary Responsibilities:
- Set up and operate finishing equipment including table top, editing, and slitting machines to meet quality and accuracy standards.
- Operate packing equipment such as box formers, auto baggers, flow wrappers, heat‑shrink equipment, and scanning/programming tools.
- Adjust machine controls (speed, tension, footage, tracking, blade settings, etc.) using computerized and manual systems.
- Conduct routine product inspections; identify, flag, and remove defective material.
- Submit samples to the quality team and collaborate cross‑functionally to maintain product standards.
- Proactively communicate potential quality issues to management.
- Perform safe material handling, including retrieving and relocating materials, bins, boxes, and skids.
- Prepare products for shipment: trimming, pressing rolls, applying flanges, labeling, bagging, and packing.
- Monitor supply levels and notify management when inventory (boxes, cores, bags, etc.) is low.
- Maintain accurate production, quality, and inventory documentation (work orders, logs, schedules, etc.).
- Read and follow engineering drawings, product specifications, and SOPs.
- Perform routine operator‑level maintenance and cleaning on equipment.
- Cross‑train and assist in other departmental tasks as needed.
- Train other operators when assigned.
- Maintain a clean, organized work area and follow all safety and security regulations.
- Participate in safety programs, audits, and trainings.
- Perform additional duties as required.
Skills & Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
- Prior manufacturing experience strongly preferred; slitting or converting experience is a plus.
- Ability to follow written and verbal instructions and read technical drawings.
- Basic experience with hand tools and measuring devices (tape measure, ruler).
- Strong attention to detail and ability to work with minimal supervision.
