This role handles the day‑to‑day accounting functions that keep office operations running smoothly, including payroll, accounts payable, commissions, and general ledger work. Position Details:
Title: Assistant Staff Accountant
Location: Princeton, NJ
Schedule: Hybrid (2 days onsite) after 6 months of training
Compensation: $50,000–$55,000 salary

Responsibilities:
- Manage accounts payable, reimbursements, and credit card expenses while maintaining accurate invoice and expense records.
- Process payroll, workers’ compensation, 401(k), and tax payments; maintain wage, benefit, PTO, and census records; assist with new hire documentation.
- Process commissions for financial representatives, recover outstanding debt, and prepare annual 1099 statements.
- Enter daily accounting data using proper double‑entry procedures and support month‑end and year‑end close.
- Record amortization and depreciation schedules and maintain accurate monthly entries.
- Educate new financial representatives on how their compensation is structured.
- Assist with tracking rent recoveries and advisor anniversaries.
Qualifications:
- 3+ years of accounting experience, including general ledger and payroll.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and familiarity with standard accounting software.
- Strong communication, problem‑solving, and organizational skills.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and work effectively in a fast‑paced environment.
