Quality Control Associate (Warehouse/Logistics)
Location: Elwood, IL
Pay: $19/hr — Weekly Pay
Schedule: Monday–Friday, 6:00 AM–3:00 PM
Job Type: Full‑time, Temp‑to‑Hire
A major logistics company specializing in material handling, freight coordination, and rail‑supported distribution is looking for a Quality Control Associate to join their team in Elwood, IL. This role is perfect for someone detail‑oriented, safety‑focused, and ready to grow into a long‑term position.
Responsibilities
Perform start‑of‑shift and end‑of‑shift physical inventory checks
Inspect incoming materials on the truck/van before unloading
Report damaged materials and communicate with receiving office
Verify incoming materials against paperwork (destination, quantity, type)
Inspect packaging and materials using a structured QC process
Complete receiving records and apply correct tags
Repair packaging when possible
Document damages and take photos using required tools
Notify carriers of damaged materials
Communicate with forklift operators regarding LTL and special‑handling loads
Tally load weights and ensure compliance with weight restrictions
Determine correct container size and equipment for shipments
Complete shipping paperwork and verify materials before securing loads
Maintain accurate inventory logs
Follow FIFO procedures, including 24‑hour rule
Ensure all materials are shipped on time
Wear required PPE at all times (steel‑toe shoes required)
Requirements
Ability to work Monday–Friday, 6 AM–3 PM
Must wear steel‑toe shoes
Strong attention to detail
Ability to work in a warehouse environment
Reliable attendance and communication skills
