We are seeking a hands-on Director of Maintenance, Tooling & Facilities to lead operations across two manufacturing sites. Reporting to the COO, this leader will oversee building operations, equipment reliability, and tooling lifecycle management while driving safety, efficiency, and cost control.
Salary: $160–$170k + 10% Annual Bonus
Must-Haves:
- Plastics manufacturing experience (injection molding or extrusion required)
- Food industry background is a plus
- Hands-on leadership style
- Strong vendor management and contract negotiation skills
- Experience managing Maintenance and Facilities teams across multiple locations
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead Facilities, Maintenance, and Tooling teams to ensure safety, maximize uptime, and reduce quality issues
- Develop long-term departmental plans for structure, staffing, and process improvements
- Manage maintenance budgets, identify cost savings, and oversee capital projects
- Ensure utilities (compressed air, chilled water, inert gas) meet operational needs
- Oversee internal teams, vendors, and contractors for equipment repair and building maintenance
- Conduct facility inspections, manage moves/changes, and review work orders
- Lead vendor management, contract negotiations, and service-level performance
- Mentor and develop team members and ensure alignment with company values
Ideal Candidate:
- 8–12+ years in maintenance, facilities, and tooling within manufacturing
- 5+ years leading multi-disciplinary teams
- Strong background in preventive/predictive maintenance and tooling lifecycle management
- Experience with budgets, capital projects, and long-term asset planning
- Knowledge of OSHA and regulatory compliance
- Familiarity with CMMS and maintenance KPIs
- Strong project management and problem-solving skills
