We are seeking a Food Safety & QA Specialist I to support the implementation, monitoring, and continuous improvement of food safety and quality programs on the production floor. This position plays a key role in ensuring our facility and products meet all customer, regulatory, and audit requirements.
Direct Hire, Monday- Friday, 1st shift $60k-$65k
Key Responsibilities:
- Maintain a strong working knowledge of the company’s Food Safety Program, policies, and protocols.
- Review daily records related to quality inspections, HACCP, SSOP, and GMP compliance.
- Conduct routine observations of food safety practices, sanitation processes, and inspection activities.
- Demonstrate expertise in food safety programs and regulatory requirements.
- Lead or assist with weekly/monthly inspections in collaboration with process owners and cross‑functional teams.
- Understand audit requirements; review records for compliance and assist with audit preparation.
- Track and analyze trends related to food safety inspections and self‑inspections for management review.
- Use data to support continuous improvement initiatives across production, sanitation, maintenance, and QA.
- Participate in ongoing Food Safety Training sessions.
- Lead or contribute to meetings with Quality and Production teams to communicate food safety and quality priorities.
- Support the development and maintenance of written programs, policies, and procedures.
Ideal Candidate Profile:
- Bachelor’s degree in Food Science or related field preferred.
- Previous experience in food safety, quality assurance, or a related role in a food production environment is required.
- Strong knowledge of HACCP, SSOP, GMP, and food safety regulations.
- Excellent attention to detail, analytical ability, and communication skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word) and food safety management systems.
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively across departments.
- HACCP certification preferred.
- Bilingual (English/Spanish) highly preferred.
