PeopleShare is seeking a skilled Maintenance Mechanic! This is an excellent opportunity for mechanically inclined candidates who enjoy hands‑on work, problem‑solving, and keeping production running smoothly.
Maintenance Mechanic –3rd Shift
Location: Monroe, NJ
Pay: $35-40/hr.
Schedule: Monday–Friday, 11:00pm–7:30am
Overtime: Occasional Saturdays as needed
Key Responsibilities:
Troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair a wide range of manufacturing equipment with a strong emphasis on electrical systems, including motors, control panels, PLC‑driven machinery, and high‑voltage components.
Apply knowledge of pneumatics, hydraulics, and industrial electrical systems in daily maintenance tasks.
Use electrical testing equipment (multimeters, megohm meters, circuit tracers) along with standard power and hand tools to perform repairs and preventive maintenance.
Ensure proper operation of machinery by completing PMs on engines, motors, electrical drives, pneumatic tools, conveyor systems, and production machines, using diagrams, schematics, manuals, and manufacturer instructions.
Install, set up, wire, and tune new injection molding machines or similar plastic molding systems, including electrical hookups, control wiring, and sensor calibration.
Install and maintain facility electrical fixtures, lighting systems, power distribution components, and related equipment as needed.
Perform routine servicing such as oiling, greasing, fueling, and electrical component inspection to ensure safe and reliable operation.
Identify and correct potential safety hazards, including electrical risks, grounding issues, and equipment malfunctions.
Conserve maintenance resources by using equipment and supplies efficiently while maintaining electrical safety and compliance.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- 2+ years of experience as an industrial mechanic or maintenance technician, preferably with heavy electrical exposure.
- Strong knowledge of industrial electrical systems, including reading and interpreting electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and control logic.
- Experience working with motors, VFDs, control circuits, relays, sensors, and high‑voltage equipment.
- Skilled in building, equipment, and electrical maintenance/repair techniques.
- Strong communication, interpersonal, and problem‑solving abilities.
- Ability to remain alert and work safely at all times, especially when working with live electrical systems.
- Willingness to work overtime and flexible weekend hours.
- Ability to push, pull, or lift up to 50 lbs.
