HVAC Service Technician Job Details:
Schedule: 7:00 AM – 3:30 PM is the typical shift; must be flexible for days, nights, weekends, and overtime
Pay Rate: $30+/hour (based on experience)
HVAC Service Technician Job Description:
The HVAC Service Technician is responsible for performing preventive maintenance, start-ups, troubleshooting, and repairs on commercial HVAC systems including rooftop units, split systems, and refrigeration systems. Technicians are expected to manage installs from start to finish with minimal supervision. Additional duties include documenting work using mobile tools, control wiring, and maintaining inventory in the company vehicle.
Technicians will service equipment such as:
Rooftop package units
3–25 ton split systems
Walk-in coolers and freezers
Tractor trailer-mounted HVAC systems (100–130 tons)
DX systems with pneumatic and electrical controls
HVAC Service Technician Job Requirements:
6+ years of hands-on HVAC experience
State Journeyman or Master’s License (preferred)
EPA-approved CFC Certification
Experience with rooftop and split systems (3–25 tons)
Familiarity with large commercial systems up to 130 tons
Knowledge of control wiring and walk-in refrigeration systems
Ability to read blueprints, wiring diagrams, and service manuals
Must bring own basic and power tools
Strong communication and task management skills
Adherence to company safety and mobile documentation protocols
Flexible schedule with availability for overtime and weekends as needed
