Maintenance Technician Job Description:
The Maintenance Technician is responsible for maintaining and repairing manufacturing equipment to ensure continuous, efficient operation. This role requires strong mechanical and electrical skills, an understanding of regulatory requirements, and the ability to respond quickly to plant maintenance needs.
Key Responsibilities Include:
- Diagnose equipment functionality and identify trouble areas; perform necessary adjustments and repairs.
- Perform basic repairs on pneumatics, hydraulics, conveyance systems, air compressors, and valves.
- Adjust and repair solenoid switches, hydraulic cylinders, gear boxes, pumps, and related components.
- Read and interpret electrical schematics; use electrical testing equipment effectively.
- Conduct electrical repairs on machinery, motors, and micro switches.
- Perform general building and equipment maintenance.
- Troubleshoot boiler and water tower operations, including steam generation issues.
- Utilize hand tools, lathes, drill presses, saws, welding equipment, and calibration devices to diagnose and fix mechanical issues.
- Complete work orders by their assigned deadlines and maintain required housekeeping standards.
- Communicate equipment or production concerns to supervisors.
- Conduct preventative maintenance on all industrial equipment.
- Support plant food safety programs and maintain compliance with all quality and hygiene requirements.
- Perform additional duties as assigned by supervision.
Maintenance Technician Job Requirements:
- High school diploma required; technical certifications or higher education preferred.
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
- Strong communication skills.
- Willingness to work overtime when needed.
- Ability to proactively identify and complete value‑added tasks.
- Competencies in communication, accountability, customer focus, initiative, problem‑solving, and collaboration.
