Overview
The Warehouse Associate plays a key role in ensuring efficient warehouse operations by receiving, processing, organizing, and distributing inventory. This position supports order fulfillment, shipping, equipment maintenance, and overall warehouse organization while upholding safety and quality standards.
Key Responsibilities
Inventory Handling & Order Fulfillment
- Receive, unload, sort, and stage incoming stock and materials.
- Pick and fill orders using an RF scanning system; manually pull specialized items as needed (e.g., sample chairs, parts, literature).
- Pack and prepare orders for shipment with accuracy and attention to detail.
- Sort and place products on racks, shelves, or in bins according to assigned bin locations.
- Assist with regular inventory cycle counts.
Material Handling & Equipment Operation
- Safely operate warehouse equipment including forklifts, reach trucks, stock pickers, clamp trucks, and pallet jacks.
- Regularly lift and move items weighing 50–80 lbs; occasionally perform team lifts for items weighing 80–150 lbs.
- Complete daily and weekly maintenance checks on warehouse equipment.
Communication & Customer Support
- Communicate shipping, delivery, packaging, or tagging issues to Customer Care, the Warehouse Manager, or the General Manager.
- Respond promptly and professionally to internal and external customer requests.
Safety & Workplace Organization
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work environment, including sweeping, dusting, mopping, and keeping workstations orderly.
- Wear required personal protective equipment (PPE) at all times.
- Follow all company safety policies and procedures, report incidents promptly, and participate in safety training.
Qualifications
- Experience in warehouse or distribution environments preferred.
- Ability to operate or willingness to learn PIT equipment.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
