3rd Shift Maintenance Mechanic
Schedule / Hours:
- Sunday: 8:00 PM – 5:18 AM
- Monday–Thursday: 10:00 PM – 6:18 AM
- 3rd shift schedule
Pay Rate:
- $25–$29 per hour
- +$2.00/hour shift differential
Travel Requirement:
- Must be able to travel for company‑paid training
Job Summary
The Maintenance Mechanic is responsible for repairing, troubleshooting, and maintaining production machinery and equipment to support a safe, efficient manufacturing environment. This position works independently or in small teams to ensure operations run smoothly and equipment uptime is maximized.
Essential Functions
- Perform timely repairs on production machinery and equipment
- Complete preventative maintenance based on established schedules and guidelines
- Report major equipment issues to the Mechanic Supervisor/Manager
- Coordinate with external vendors for specialized repairs when needed
- Order and process replacement parts
- Train machine operators on basic equipment care and troubleshooting
- Perform facility maintenance tasks
- Complete other duties as assigned
Minimum Requirements
Education:
- High School Diploma or GED
Experience:
- Minimum 2 years of equipment maintenance and repair experience in a manufacturing environment
Skills & Abilities:
- Ability to perform all essential maintenance duties effectively
- Strong mechanical, troubleshooting, and problem‑solving skills
- Ability to interact effectively with internal teams and external vendors
- Strong verbal communication skills
- Commitment to providing excellent internal customer service
- Knowledge of solid‑state electronics and DC voltage
Certifications:
Language Skills
- Ability to read, analyze, and interpret technical procedures, professional journals, business documents, and regulations
- Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals
- Ability to present information and respond to questions from internal and external stakeholders
Physical Requirements
- Regularly required to sit, use hands, reach, talk, and hear
- Occasionally required to stand and walk
- Must be able to lift/move up to 10 lbs occasionally
- Vision requirements include: close, distance, color, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus
