Sit Down Forklift Operator
Location: Pennsauken, NJ 08110
Schedule: 6:00 PM – 6:00 AM, 2-2-3 Rotational Shift (every other weekend off)
Pay Rate: $21.17/hr
Onsite Requirement: Onsite
The Forklift Operator is responsible for the safe transportation, storage, loading, and unloading of ingredients, packaging, and finished goods. This role supports production operations by moving materials throughout the facility and ensuring accuracy, safety, and compliance with all operating procedures.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform equipment inspections and document any deficiencies.
- Operate forklifts and other warehouse equipment safely while maintaining awareness of pedestrian traffic, docks, and racking conditions.
- Inspect pallets and loads to ensure safe handling and stability.
- Follow all safety procedures and GMPs.
- Receive vendor purchase orders, transfer interplant product, locate materials, pick orders in FIFO sequence, and load carriers per SOPs.
- Accurately follow Bills of Lading and Pick Lists and perform corresponding ERP transactions to update inventory.
- Load and unload trucks following required time standards and distribution instructions.
- Receive, verify counts, and store raw materials in designated warehouse locations.
- Maintain housekeeping to GMP and Food Safety standards throughout the shift.
- Assist with organization and cleaning of docks, racking areas, and warehouse spaces. Report any uncorrectable deficiencies.
- Identify and take appropriate action on damaged materials.
- Participate in internal audits and offer process improvement suggestions.
- Inspect all inbound and outbound freight and trailer conditions, taking corrective action as required.
Required
- Minimum 1 year of forklift experience in a manufacturing environment, including operation in tight and high‑traffic areas.
- Clean driver’s license record.
- Ability to speak, read, write, and comprehend English to complete documentation and communicate with team members.
- Basic computer skills for entering information into systems.
