Key Responsibilities
As a Manufacturing Support Technician, you will be at the heart of our granulation operations and plant maintenance. Your duties will include:
Production & Operation
Operating and ensuring the functionality of Granulators 2, 3, and 4.
Constantly monitoring Fluff Silos 212 A, B, and C and keeping the Production Lead and Pelletizing Technician updated on their status.
Executing the daily granulation and material flow plan, ensuring floor organization.
Performing Bulk Density quality checks to maintain product uniformity and responding to quality problems with the proper process response.
Accurately and completely recording all work area activities, product tracking, process conditions, and quality results in appropriate forms, log books, and checklists.
Operating all equipment in strict compliance with procedures and operational guidelines.
Responding to line upsets to assist Rear Forming with securing the Forming Line.
Qualifications and Requirements
To be successful in this role, you should possess the following:
Experience: Prior experience as a production worker or machine operator is required (e.g., experience from Stihl, IMS Gear, USUI, Paradigm, or similar environments is a plus).
Mechanical Aptitude: Must be mechanically inclined with the ability to troubleshoot and set up machines. Machine maintenance experience is preferred.
Mathematical Skills: Must be mathematically inclined and capable of converting metric and standard measurements.
Equipment Proficiency: Proficient in the safe use of forklifts, clamp trucks, motorized handcarts, and other material handling equipment as required.
Availability: Must be available to work rotating shifts, overtime as necessary, weekends, and holidays as scheduled.
Schedule and Shift Information
This role involves working a 12-hour rotating shift schedule (6:00 AM to 6:00 PM or 6:00 PM to 6:00 AM), which requires flexibility, including availability for days, nights, weekends, and holidays as scheduled.
Rotation: You will work on days for approximately two weeks and then switch to nights for approximately two weeks.
Example Rotation: The shift pattern is generally:
Work 2 days, have 2 days off.
Work 3 days, have 2 days off.
Work 2 days, have 3 days off (same pattern for both day and night shifts).
Training: Initial training and safety orientation will take place on day shifts for about two weeks. Placement onto a team for the regular shift schedule will depend on training progress.
