AM QA Technician – Food Manufacturing (Non-Entry Level)
Location: Suffolk, VA
Schedule: Monday–Friday, 6AM–6PM after training (Some Saturdays as needed)
Overview:
A peanut production facility in Suffolk is seeking an experienced AM QA Technician. This role is not entry level — the supervisors are specifically looking for candidates who have previously worked in QA within food, beverage, or other FDA-regulated manufacturing.
Responsibilities:
Inspect incoming raw materials for quality (moisture, color, foreign material, etc.)
Perform in-process checks on shelling, roasting, blanching, grinding, and peanut butter production lines
Inspect finished products for packaging accuracy, label integrity, seals, codes, and cleanliness
Conduct sampling for micro testing, allergen swabs, ATP/environmental monitoring, and metal detector/X-ray checks
Identify and tag non-conforming materials; initiate hold or rework procedures
Maintain accurate QA documentation, logs, and sample submissions
Assist with corrective actions and root-cause investigations; partner with production to stop the line when necessary
Support calibration of QA equipment and assist with sanitation/pre-op inspections
Follow GMP, HACCP, and food safety requirements; uphold PPE and safety rules
Participate in continuous improvement efforts to reduce waste and defects
What We’re Looking For:
Not entry level — previous QA experience in food or beverage manufacturing is highly preferred
Strong understanding of GMPs, HACCP, and food safety standards
Comfortable in a hands-on production environment
Reliable, detail-oriented, and able to work in partnership with production teams
