Material Handler Job Description:
As a Material Handler , you will be responsible for receiving, moving, labeling, and shipping raw materials and packaging components throughout the warehouse and production environment. You will operate material handling equipment and maintain high standards of cleanliness, safety, and compliance in accordance with GMP and OSHA regulations.
Responsibilities:
Receive incoming materials and process outbound shipments.
Accurately label and document raw materials and finished goods in compliance with GMP.
Operate forklifts, pallet jacks, stretch wrappers, and other equipment to move and stage materials.
Review and manage materials requirements reports to replenish production areas.
Maintain warehouse organization and cleanliness, including routine floor cleaning and trash removal.
Participate in the safe disposal of waste materials as per OSHA and MSDS guidelines.
Assist other departments (production, logistics, etc.) with site-wide support tasks.
Follow safety procedures and wear appropriate PPE at all times.
Material Handler Job Requirements:
High School Diploma or equivalent required.
3+ years of experience in a GMP-compliant warehouse, shipping, or inventory control position.
Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and push/pull up to 1000 lbs using pallet jacks and other equipment.
Must have a valid driver’s license and be able to operate forklifts and related machinery.
Willingness and ability to obtain IATA/DOT certification.
Strong math and reading comprehension skills with attention to detail.
Ability to work independently, follow instructions precisely, and meet time-sensitive goals.
Familiarity with inventory principles such as FIFO, JIT, and process flow mapping is highly desirable.
