Title: Maintenance Technician
Location: West Deptford, NJ 08066
Salary: $25-30/hr, contract-to-hire
Schedule: 1st shift, Sunday - Thursday with coverage on Fridays once or twice a month. Start time can be either 5:00 AM or 7:00 AM.
The Maintenance Technician will perform a variety of semi-skilled and/or skilled tasks in the maintenance and repair of facilities and equipment. Reporting to the Maintenance Supervisor, this position ensures the facility and equipment operate safely, efficiently, and with high quality, contributing to the site’s overall strategic goals.
Responsibilities:
Facility Maintenance:
- Perform electrical and plumbing repairs.
- Conduct preventative maintenance (PM) and repairs for loading dock equipment.
- Maintain office and breakroom areas.
- Handle forklift batteries: cleaning, watering, and minor repairs.
- Oversee waste management equipment.
- Perform PM and maintenance for production equipment per the asset list in the CMMS system.
- General warehouse management, including interior and exterior maintenance.
- Conduct welding as needed.
- Perform PM and repairs on compressed air systems.
- Maintain wastewater equipment.
- Conduct refrigeration system repairs and maintenance.
- Handle other duties and repairs as required.
Administrative and Safety Responsibilities:
- CMMS tasks:
- Input work orders.
- Manage requests from Kristy Kuts management and create work orders.
- Manage and complete assigned PMs.
- Perform life safety tests and inspections.
- Comply with all food safety requirements.
- Be on-call for emergencies as needed.
- Fulfill other responsibilities as required.
Requirements:
- Education: High school diploma or GED; technical school is a plus.
- Experience: Two years of relevant experience.
- Licensing: Valid Driver’s License.
- Skills and Qualifications:
- Mechanically inclined with the ability to perform semi-skilled and skilled maintenance, construction, and repair work.
- Strong interpersonal skills to establish effective working relationships.
- Capable of working independently with minimal supervision.
- Proficiency in operating a variety of vehicles and equipment safely.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, cold-temperature environment.
- Experience with commercial HVAC is a plus.
- Familiarity with and adherence to all safety regulations, policies, and procedures.
- Other Requirements:
- Ability to maintain regular attendance and work overtime as needed.
- Successful completion of a pre-employment drug test.
