AutoCAD Drafter - Glass & Glazing Systems
Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced AutoCAD Drafter to create detailed technical drawings and plans for commercial glass and glazing systems. This role works closely with project managers, architects, engineers, and field operations teams to develop accurate design documentation that supports successful project execution. The ideal candidate has strong AutoCAD skills, experience with architectural construction drawings, and a keen attention to detail.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and prepare detailed shop drawings and construction details for glass and glazing systems.
- Create accurate 2D elevations, sections, and technical drawings using AutoCAD.
- Review project specifications, architectural plans, and contract documents to ensure design compliance.
- Revise and update drawings based on feedback from architects, engineers, contractors, and project teams.
- Maintain drawing revisions and version control throughout the project lifecycle.
- Collaborate with project managers and field personnel to support project planning and execution.
- Conduct site visits as needed to gather field measurements and project information.
- Ensure all drawings meet applicable industry standards, codes, and project requirements.
- Assist with resolving design challenges and coordinating project details.
Qualifications
- Proficiency in AutoCAD and technical drafting.
- Minimum 3 years of drafting or design experience, preferably within the glass and glazing industry.
- Strong understanding of construction drawings, drafting standards, and design principles.
- Experience creating detailed technical drawings and schematics.
- Knowledge of architectural and construction industry practices.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, specifications, and project documents.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with commercial glass, curtain wall, storefront, window, or glazing systems.
- Background working with architectural, structural, or engineering drawings.
- Field measurement and construction coordination experience.
