We are seeking a detail-oriented Quality Assurance Technician to join our team and ensure our facility continues to meet the strict food safety and quality standards our brand is known for.
Position Overview
As a QA Technician, you will be on the front lines of maintaining our food safety programs, conducting physical inspections, and running laboratory tests on incoming raw materials and finished peanut products. You will work closely with our operations team to prevent contamination, uphold sanitation guidelines, and maintain compliance with regulatory standards.
Key Responsibilities
Quality & Moisture Testing: Perform routine sampling and laboratory testing on raw and processed peanuts, including moisture analysis, sizing, visual grading, defect analysis, and salt/oil levels.
Aflatoxin & Allergen Monitoring: Conduct required screening for aflatoxin levels and strictly enforce allergen control protocols across handling, processing, and packaging lines.
Line Audits & Monitoring: Conduct pre-operational inspections, Critical Control Point (CCP) monitoring, metal detector checks, and sanitation verification before and during production runs.
Compliance & Recordkeeping: Maintain accurate logs for Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs), and Hazard Analysis Critical Control Point (HACCP) programs.
Non-Conformance Handling: Identify, place on hold, and document any non-conforming raw materials, packaging, or finished products. Work with production leadership to investigate root causes and implement corrective actions.
Sanitation Verification: Perform environmental swabbing (ATP, pathogen testing) and inspect processing machinery to ensure thorough cleaning protocols are met.
Qualifications & Skills
Experience: 1–3 years of experience in quality assurance or quality control, preferably within a food manufacturing, agricultural, or nut-processing environment.
Education: High school diploma or equivalent required; Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Food Science, Chemistry, Agriculture, or a related field is a plus.
Knowledge: Familiarity with FDA regulations, GMPs, HACCP, and allergen control management. SQF or BRC experience is a strong advantage.
Technical Skills: Strong attention to detail, basic lab math skills, and proficient communication skills (both written and verbal).
Physical Requirements: Ability to stand and walk for extended periods, lift up to 30–50 lbs, and work comfortably in a facility with temperature variations, dust, and exposure to peanut allergens.
