Structured Cabling Estimator

About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Structured Cabling Estimator to support the bid and proposal process for structured cabling and low‑voltage technology projects. This role plays a critical part in developing accurate, competitive estimates that support successful project execution across commercial and enterprise environments.
The ideal candidate has a strong background in construction or telecommunications estimating, understands structured cabling systems, and is comfortable collaborating across project management, engineering, and client‑facing teams.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare detailed and accurate cost estimates for structured cabling installations by reviewing project plans, specifications, and site conditions
- Utilize estimating and takeoff tools (such as Bluebeam and similar platforms) to produce professional, comprehensive bids
- Collaborate closely with project managers, engineers, and clients to fully understand project scope and technical requirements
- Conduct site visits to assess existing infrastructure and identify potential risks or cost‑saving opportunities
- Source and negotiate pricing with vendors, suppliers, and subcontractors while maintaining quality and compliance standards
- Develop complete proposals including materials, labor hours, equipment, and schedule estimates
- Maintain organized records of estimates, revisions, and bid correspondence
- Apply best practices in construction estimating, including cost control, risk mitigation, and value engineering
Qualifications
- Proven experience estimating construction, telecommunications, or structured cabling projects
- Strong working knowledge of structured cabling systems and low‑voltage infrastructure
- Proficiency with Bluebeam Revu; experience with DTools or similar estimating software preferred
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and technical specifications
- Solid understanding of construction management principles, contracts, and site operations
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to explain estimates clearly to internal and external stakeholders
- Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple bids and deadlines
Compensation & Benefits
- Salary range: $65,000–$120,000 (commensurate with experience)
