We’re seeking a reliable Parts Cleaner / Sandblaster to join our 2nd shift team. This role involves preparing electric motor parts, operating sandblasting equipment, maintaining tools, and supporting mechanical tear‑downs in a clean and safety‑focused environment.
Position Title: Parts Cleaner / Sandblaster
Shift: 2nd Shift — Monday–Friday, 2:00 PM to 12:00 AM
Employment Type: Hourly
Pay Rate: Up to $20 per hour
Job Description:
- Prep, clean, and paint electric motor disassembled parts. Includes painting, grinding, and steam cleaning.
- Operate sandblasting equipment.
- Maintain a safe, clean, and professional workspace.
- Maintain hand tools and equipment in order to keep them in safe and usable condition.
- Follow written procedures and complete paperwork as required for tasks.
- Assist mechanics in tear down of electric motors.
- Miscellaneous mechanical tasks as needed.
Job Expectations/Requirements:
- High school degree or equivalent.
- Candidate must be able to successfully pass a respirator clearance exam and fit test (company paid).
- Candidate must be physically able to safely operate equipment, able to lift and carry up to 50 pounds and capable of standing/stooping/kneeling for long periods of time.
- Candidate must be able to work overtime as needed, including extended hours outside of assigned shift, weekends, and holidays.
- Must be at least 18 years of age due to the nature of the tasks, materials, and machinery involved.
- Candidate required to train on first shift (6am to 4pm) for at least a few weeks before transitioning to second shift.
- Must demonstrate a strong work ethic, remain focused on tasks, and stay on schedule throughout the shift.
Preferred:
- Ability to work effectively with limited supervision on 2nd shift while consistently completing assigned workload.
- Strong self-motivation and time management skills, as the 2nd shift supervisor oversees multiple areas simultaneously.
- Problem-solving skills and a level-headed approach to daily tasks and challenges.
- Successful completion of 1st shift training is essential and designed to set the candidate up for long-term success in this role.
- Prior experience using sandblasting equipment. Painting or coatings experience a plus.
