Position Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented Inventory Control / Cycle Counting Specialist to support daily inventory accuracy within our high-volume distribution environment. This role involves both hands-on inventory work and system-based data entry, including cycle counts, discrepancy research, and reporting. The ideal candidate will also serve as a backup to the Inventory Supervisor, assisting with detailed record-keeping, documentation, and escalation of inventory-related issues.
Schedule: Monday - Friday, days
Pay: $20 - $22/hr
Key Responsibilities
- Perform daily cycle counts, spot checks, and inventory audits to ensure accuracy.
- Conduct research and investigate discrepancies, including quantity variances, missing items, and system mismatches.
- Enter and maintain data within the Warehouse Management System (WMS) with strong accuracy and organization.
- Prepare, update, and maintain detailed inventory reports, including count results and discrepancy documentation.
- Act as a backup to the Inventory Supervisor, assisting with record-keeping, reporting, and issue resolution.
- Operate forklifts and material-handling equipment to access inventory locations as needed.
- Collaborate with warehouse, operations, and leadership teams to support inventory integrity.
- Follow all safety procedures and maintain a clean, organized work area.
Qualifications
- Experience in a high-volume distribution or warehouse operation, specifically in inventory control, cycle counting, or similar functions.
- Proficiency with computer systems and WMS platforms (SAP, Blue Yonder, Manhattan, Oracle, etc.—or your specific system if you want to add it).
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in data entry and documentation.
- Ability to identify, analyze, and resolve inventory discrepancies.
- Forklift and material-handling experience required (Reach Truck, Stand-Up, Sit-Down, or specify your equipment).
- Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
- Leadership experience or the ability to step in as backup to the Supervisor when needed.
- Ability to work on your feet, lift products, and operate within a fast-paced distribution environment.
