Schedule: Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM–5:00 PM (4 days in office, no Mondays from home)
Type: 4 month contract-to-hire
Pay Rate: $29-31.25/hr
Overview:
Our client, a respected healthcare organization, is conducting a passive search for an experienced Senior Accounts Receivable Specialist to join their Revenue Cycle team. They are looking for the right fit—someone who can bring strength, leadership, and expertise to a team of six collectors. This position could be ideal for either a hands-on collections expert or a lead/supervisory-level professional with the ability to mentor and elevate others.
Responsibilities:
- Manage full-cycle AR collections and payer follow-up to ensure timely reimbursement.
- Handle insurance claim resolution and correspondence with payers to minimize outstanding balances.
- Identify, research, and resolve aged claims and denials.
- Collaborate with internal teams to improve billing and collection workflows.
- Support or lead AR staff, depending on experience level, fostering accountability and performance.
- Contribute to ongoing process improvement and assist with system conversions such as NetSmart.
Qualifications:
- 8–10 years of medical collections experience required.
- Strong understanding of insurance billing, payer processes, and denial management.
- Prior lead or supervisory experience preferred but not required.
- Excellent communication, analytical, and organizational skills.
- Experience with NetSmart or similar EHR systems is a strong plus.
