Bilingual Customer Service Representative Job Details:
- Schedule: 1st shift Monday-Friday: Start time is 7:30am to 4:00pm
- Pay Rate: $18/hr
- When converted pay rate will increase to $28.07/hour
The Customer Service Representative performs a variety of advanced interaction communications with customers as well as computer and clerical duties
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Answer phones and articulate to customers in a professional manner
- Return all voicemail messages in a timely and professional manner
- Follow up on customer inquiries in a timely manner
- Prepare certifications for title companies that are preparing for sales of city properties
- Provide customers outstanding customer service by making sure the issues are resolved, questions are answered and/or complaints are forwarded to appropriate department heads
- Data Entry of the Turn on/Turn off information that is received by the Collection Agency and Distribution Department
- Log Accounts of returned mail received in the Administration Office
- Recognize, document and alert management of customer billing problems
- Prepare warrants (refunds) for customers
- Set up Fire Hydrant permits
- Prepare new connection paper work for contractors
- Prepare abandonment paper work for customers
- Distribute incoming mail
- Make sure that all HUD’s or copies of Deeds that come into our office are entered into the Billing System with name change/address changes/owner information
- Answer incoming email for the water billing email address
- Report to the Distribution Department all calls related to the Water Turn On/Off, Meter Notices, potential Tampered Meters and Illegal Turn On
- Processing checks that arrive in the Administrative Office with the daily mail by checking to see if account is in collections, if so hold for ARB to pick up, if the account is not in collections, place account number on check and deliver for processing
- Perform additional tasks as needed and requested by RAWA management
- Prepare and distribute breakdowns to Water/Sewer customer’s upon request for billing accounts
- Remove Penalties on accounts once approved by Management
- Remove outstanding balances on customers billing accounts as per the Tax Free and Clear Sale
- Prepare, record, and implement large meter change-out program/backflow program
- Record, prepare letters, and implement the tampered meter program
- All other duties deemed necessary for the best of the whole operation
Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Five (5) years of experience in advanced office practices including working with customers and varied computer applications including Microsoft Word and Excel
- Any equivalent combination of experience and training that provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities
- Must be able to verbally communicate effectively with customers in English and in Spanish. RAWA shall evaluate an applicant’s language proficiency via an objective third-party
