Position Summary:
The Plant Maintenance Manager will oversee all maintenance activities, ensuring safety, reliability, and efficiency across the facility. This role requires strong leadership skills, technical expertise, and a proactive approach to equipment and plant maintenance. The Maintenance Manager will work collaboratively to improve maintenance strategies and processes while supporting the overall success of the organization.
Responsibilities:
- Provide leadership to a team of technicians, mechanics, and boiler operators.
- Foster a culture of safety, quality, and reliability.
- Ensure compliance with OSHA and other safety regulations.
- Develop and implement asset management strategies to maximize equipment performance and lifespan.
- Use and maintain the computerized maintenance management system to manage work orders and spare parts inventory.
- Review work requests, prioritize tasks, and coordinate resources to complete maintenance efficiently.
- Manage Preventative Maintenance and Mechanical Integrity programs, including inspection data collection and analysis.
- Lead root cause analysis and corrective actions for equipment failures.
- Oversee relationships with third-party contractors and vendors.
- Plan and manage plant shutdowns and outages.
- Collaborate with purchasing teams to manage parts, materials, and budgets.
- Provide technical support for plant upgrades and capital projects.
Qualifications:
- 10+ years of leadership experience in maintenance within a chemical manufacturing or similar industrial environment.
- Strong commitment to safety and proven ability to build a safety-first culture.
- Expertise in maintaining reactors, pressure vessels, heat exchangers, pumps, boilers, and related utility equipment.
- Ability to interpret P&IDs, technical drawings, and process specifications.
- Experience with OSHA PSM, MOC, and related compliance programs.
- Bachelor’s degree in mechanical, electrical, chemical engineering, or equivalent technical experience.
- Strong interpersonal and organizational skills, with the ability to coach and mentor team members.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
Preferred Skills:
- Active or previous boiler licensing.
- Experience managing maintenance within OSHA PSM or similar programs.
- Working knowledge of instrumentation, PLCs, and process control systems.
- Understanding of water and wastewater facility maintenance.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
- Comfortable working in confined spaces and at elevated heights.
- Able to use a respirator and participate in required safety training.
