Job Title: Construction Operations Manager
Location: Philadelphia, PA
Pay: $95,000-$105,000year (based on experience)
Schedule: Monday–Friday, First Shift
Job Description:
We are seeking a skilled and experienced Construction Operations Manager to oversee daily operations, production performance, and regulatory compliance at our Philadelphia facility. Reporting directly to the General Manager, this role requires a hands-on leader who can effectively manage personnel, maintain equipment, and ensure operational excellence.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Maintain operational documentation, including reports, licenses, procedures, and order requirements.
- Lead production teams by setting expectations, coaching, monitoring performance, and enforcing policies.
- Recruit, train, and develop staff, fostering personal and professional growth.
- Monitor workflow and improve processes to enhance efficiency, reduce costs, and address issues proactively.
- Schedule and assign work priorities, resolve production challenges, and ensure deadlines are met.
- Oversee equipment operations, schedule maintenance, and recommend upgrades or new techniques.
- Analyze performance data and provide actionable insights to improve operations.
- Maintain compliance with all safety and regulatory requirements, educating staff on proper procedures.
- Develop and implement new systems and procedures to improve operations and maintain high-quality standards.
- Manage labor relations and union interactions as necessary.
Qualifications:
Required:
- High school diploma or GED.
- 8+ years of supervisory experience in construction or a related field.
- 2+ years of mechanical experience, including welding, fabrication, and general maintenance.
- 5+ years of experience operating construction equipment (e.g., excavators, wheel loaders, screeners, truck scales).
- Materials processing and asphalt/concrete plant experience.
- Ability to wear personal protective equipment (steel-toe shoes, hard hat, eye protection, respirator).
Preferred:
- Associate’s or bachelor’s degree in a related field.
- Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills for managing customers and coworkers professionally.
- Proficiency with computers for communication, record-keeping, and reporting.
- Experience managing labor relations or working with unions.
