Job Title: Purchasing Analyst
Location: Camden, NJ 08105
Schedule: Monday - Friday, 8:30 AM - 5:00 PM
Salary: Fulltime, $50-70k/year
Overview:
Responsible for sourcing and executing the procurement activity for raw materials, chemicals and facility supplies.
Responsibilities:
- Works closely with management with respects to raw material forecasting.
- Evaluates raw material forecast submitted by management, sales, and production to suggest adjustments based off changes pertaining but not limited to production, warehousing, and inventory position.
- Review supplier shipping schedules against the raw material forecast to identify and resolve future potential inventory issues.
- Assist with sourcing of raw material and packaging supplies by interviewing suppliers to obtain price and specification information.
- Works with management to troubleshoot and resolve quality problems with suppliers.
- Assist in managing bulk tank inventory levels to support production as needed.
- Resolve accounts payable discrepancies in a timely manner.
- Assist with updating inventory spreadsheets and verifying inventory as needed.
- Coordinate the logistics of raw materials from overseas shipments.
- Ensures data integrity in the ERP system as well as streamlining transactional elimination opportunities
- Monitor supplier performance and participate in audit controls for the business unit.
Requirements:
- Associates degree in business related field preferred
- At least 3 to 5 years of purchasing experience or education in a related field.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
- Advanced MS Excel skills.
- Chemical and/or manufacturing experience desired.
- Familiarity with ERP systems, specifically data entry and inventory control.
- Demonstrated ability to manage time and be a self-starter: initiative is a must.
- Proactive communication – monitors raw material supply vs. production schedule and informs production staff of anticipated problems and issues.
- Detail oriented – accurate entry of data and ability to quickly and accurately identify discrepancies of ordered and received goods.
- Track record of following up with vendors on orders placed, identifying shipment and other timing delays.
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with company personnel and vendors.
- Comfortable working in Plant/Warehouse environment
- Other duties as assigned.
