Forklift Operator/Material Handler
Pay: $23.00 - $26.00 per hour (based on experience)

Position Summary
We are seeking an experienced and dependable Material Handler II to support manufacturing and production operations by ensuring materials, supplies, and inventory are accurately staged, transported, and maintained. This role is critical to maintaining production flow, inventory accuracy, and an organized work environment. The ideal candidate is self-motivated, detail-oriented, and capable of working independently while supporting multiple departments.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare, organize, and stage materials required to support production and manufacturing operations.
- Respond promptly to requests from various departments for material transportation and handling.
- Conduct inventory counts and maintain accurate inventory records.
- Utilize ERP systems to analyze inventory levels and determine appropriate staging locations for incoming materials.
- Run reports and proactively plan for upcoming material requirements.
- Investigate inventory discrepancies, identify root causes, and provide recommendations for corrective actions.
- Organize parts and pallets accurately using part numbers, job numbers, heat numbers, and related traceability requirements.
- Serve as a backup for all material handling functions, including:
- Moving and issuing plate pack materials
- Issuing saw materials and processing transactions
- Kitting materials for assembly operations
- Maintaining compliance with traceability requirements
- Allocating, labeling, and staging sales order materials
- Monitor department workloads and assist across various functions during periods of increased demand.
- Prioritize daily work assignments with minimal supervision.
- Communicate effectively with supervisors and cross-functional teams to ensure smooth workflow.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work environment, including production areas, storage yards, and staging locations.
- Ensure compliance with inventory tracking and heat number documentation requirements.
- Identify and communicate slow-moving or obsolete inventory to leadership.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum of 5 years of material handling experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment.
- Minimum of 5 years of forklift operating experience.
- Current forklift certification.
- Strong experience with inventory transactions and inventory control processes.
- High attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.
- Ability to work independently and make sound decisions with minimal supervision.
- Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Demonstrated willingness to learn and continuously develop skills and knowledge.
Education
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent required.
