NOW HIRING - Forklift Operator
Location: Suffolk, VA
Pay: Starting at $20.00 per hour (higher pay may be considered based on experience)
Schedule: Monday-Friday, 9:00 AM - 5:30 PM
Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced Forklift Operator to support shipping, receiving, and inventory operations in a fast-paced warehouse environment. The ideal candidate will have proven forklift experience, strong attention to detail, and experience preparing orders for shipment.
Candidates must be comfortable operating a traditional 2-prong forklift and will be required to demonstrate their forklift skills during the interview process.
Key Responsibilities
- Operate a 2-prong forklift safely and efficiently
- Pick and prepare customer orders for shipment
- Use RF scan guns to process and track inventory
- Load outbound trailers while ensuring proper weight distribution
- Assist with shipping, receiving, and inventory control functions
- Verify product accuracy and complete required documentation
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe warehouse environment
Qualifications
- Previous forklift operating experience required
- Ability to successfully complete a forklift skills evaluation during the interview process
- Experience using RF scanners
- Experience picking, staging, and preparing orders for shipment
- Working knowledge of shipping, receiving, inventory control, and warehouse procedures
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy
- Dependable attendance and reliable transportation
- Ability to lift up to 40 lbs.
- Willingness to work overtime as needed
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience operating a traditional 2-prong forklift
- Current or previous forklift certification
- Experience loading trailers and understanding proper load distribution
