About the Material Handler Job
We are hiring entry level material handlers for a major distribution center in Aberdeen, MD. A Material Handler will work full‑time doing warehouse recarton tasks such as banding, auditing, and lumping.
This is a long‑term, temp‑to‑hire role with steady hours, weekly pay, and clear growth paths.
⭐What You’ll Do as a Material Handler
Breaking down inbound pallets, moving freight to the recarton area, and restacking or rebuilding pallets as needed.
Securing cartons and full pallets using banding/strapping machines to maintain load integrity.
Ensuring all palletized loads meet required safety and stability standards before staging.
Preparing completed pallets for outbound staging and verifying correct product, quantity, and labeling.
Checking packaging quality and ensuring all recarton work meets customer and Ryder standards.
Reporting discrepancies or damaged goods and entering accurate information into the warehouse management system
⭐Material Handler Requirements
✔ RECENT warehouse experience
✔ RF scanner experience preferred
✔ Ability to lift 20–50 lbs regularly and up to 75 lbs occasionally
✔ Steel-toe or composite-toe boots required (not shoes)
✔ Comfortable working around large appliances and oversized freight
✔ Reliable and safety-focused
⭐Preferred (not required):
• Prior warehouse experience required
• Experience with warehouse recarton
