Schedule: Monday–Thursday, 6:00 PM–6:30 AM (Night Shift)
Pay Rate: $18/hour Location: Suffolk, VA
Position Overview
PeopleShare is seeking a Roaster Assistant for a food‑production facility in Suffolk. This role supports the Roaster Operator and ensures the roasting area remains clean, organized, and running smoothly. This is a hands‑on, physical position in a production environment. This is NOT an entry level position.
Key Responsibilities
Monitor skin bags during roasting operations and empty them into the skin shed when full.
Clean and maintain the skin bag area, removing any loose skins or debris.
Keep the entire roaster room clean, organized, and free of debris at all times.
Dump raw peanut bags and properly hook and secure bags for roasting.
Assist the Roaster Operator with daily operational tasks as needed.
Participate in scheduled deep‑cleaning of roaster equipment (approx. two days per month), including disassembly, pressure washing, and chemical cleaning.
Follow all food safety, GMP, sanitation, and safety requirements at all times.
Serve as potential backup for the Roaster Operator if trained (computer aptitude required).
Preferred Qualifications
Forklift experience is a plus.
Ability to work in a physical, production‑based environment.
Strong attention to detail and willingness to maintain cleanliness standards.
Reliable, team‑oriented, and able to follow safety procedures consistently.
