Position Overview
As a Project Manager at Speedwell Construction, you’ll take ownership of commercial construction projects from kickoff to closeout. You’ll coordinate teams, control budgets, and keep schedules on track—ensuring that every build reflects Speedwell’s standards for quality, safety, and client satisfaction. This position requires an energetic leader who thrives on collaboration, problem-solving, and driving progress in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities
Project Leadership
- Manage all project phases—from estimating and preconstruction through final completion and turnover.
- Build strong relationships with clients, architects, engineers, subcontractors, and internal teams.
- Conduct project kickoffs, milestone meetings, and close-out reviews.
- Partner with Superintendents to maintain alignment between field execution and office coordination.
Planning & Execution
- Develop, maintain, and communicate detailed construction schedules using Microsoft Project.
- Review three-week look-ahead schedules and ensure alignment with master schedules.
- Secure required permits, inspections, and documentation.
- Monitor progress and costs, identifying savings opportunities without compromising quality or safety.
Financial & Contract Management
- Lead subcontractor and vendor buyout, including scope analysis and fair negotiations.
- Review, process, and track change orders, submittals, RFIs, purchase orders, and pay applications.
- Manage billing cycles and ensure accurate project documentation.
Team & Safety Leadership
- Mentor Project Engineers and Coordinators to build team capability and technical knowledge.
- Support implementation of Speedwell’s Safety Program and uphold job site compliance.
- Foster teamwork, accountability, and a positive work culture across all project teams.

Requirements
Minimum Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- OSHA 10 certification
- 5+ years of relevant construction or project coordination experience
- Familiarity with construction codes, contract documents, and best practices
- Basic computer proficiency, including construction management tools
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management or related field
- OSHA 30 certification
- Prior experience as a construction Project Manager
- Proficiency with Microsoft Project, Bluebeam, Viewpoint, Revit, and Office 365
Work Conditions
This position involves a mix of office and field work. Site visits may require navigating uneven terrain, climbing ladders, and wearing PPE. The role typically follows a Monday–Friday schedule, though some evenings or weekends may be needed to meet project milestones.
Occasional overnight travel (up to twice per month) and a valid driver’s license are required. A company vehicle may be provided as needed.
