Position Summary
We are seeking a detail-oriented and self-motivated QC FAB Inspector with a strong understanding of manufacturing and distribution processes. This role involves timely processing of quality requirements, inspection, documentation, and communication with suppliers, customers, and internal teams. Unresolved or severe quality issues will be escalated to the Quality Manager for resolution.
Essential Job Functions
- Master blueprint reading and interpretation; inspect using proper gauges to meet customer requirements.
- Maintain and retrieve quality documents and alerts.
- Support PPAP submissions per AIAG 4th edition guidelines.
- Complete FAIRs, DIPs, TDPs, and visual inspections of distribution items.
- Review incoming tooling and collaborate with NPI team to resolve issues.
- Verify material and hardware certifications against requirements.
- Physically confirm incoming hardware and parts for conformity.
- Communicate with suppliers to resolve and escalate quality notices.
- Assist with processing RMAs and discrepancies, including CSI/Syteline entries.
Knowledge & Skills
- Excellent computer skills (Excel, Word, PDF Professional, Microsoft Office).
- Strong problem-solving, critical thinking, and risk assessment skills.
- Proficient in common inspection tools and equipment.
- Knowledge of blueprint reading and interpretation.
- Familiarity with PSWs, dimensional validation reports, control plans, PFMEAs, CPK studies, Gauge R&R, material test reports, and C of Cs.
Education & Experience
- High school diploma or equivalent; some college preferred.
- Minimum of 2 years of work-related experience preferred.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
- Frequent stooping, crouching, reaching, walking, and repetitive motion.
- Close visual acuity required.
- Exposure to fumes, odors, and dust in a manufacturing environment.
