Legal Assistant - Location: Downtown Chicago, IL
A well-established and dynamic law firm in the heart of downtown Chicago is seeking an experienced Commercial Legal Assistant to join its fast-paced Corporate and Business Counseling practice group.

Responsibilities:
• Draft, redline, and proofread a wide range of corporate and transactional documents, including M&A agreements, contracts, closing documents, UCC filings, and compliance materials.
• Support all phases of major corporate transactions, from due diligence and pre-closing preparation to post-closing follow-up.
• File corporate documents with the Secretary of State and other federal and state agencies.
• Manage client files, maintain attorney calendars, coordinate meetings and travel, and ensure seamless communication across teams.
• Track billable hours, assist with proformas, and support the billing process.
• Conduct conflict checks, prepare engagement letters, and open/close matters efficiently.
• Collaborate across practice groups to provide exceptional service and maintain smooth workflow during high-volume periods.
Qualifications:
• Minimum of 3+ years of corporate legal experience required.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and advanced PDF editing tools.
• Experience with legal software platforms such as NetDocs and SurePoint preferred.
• Strong writing, communication, and organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple deadlines.
• Calm, professional demeanor with a strong client-service mindset.
• Exceptional attention to detail and commitment to producing accurate, high-quality work.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with integrity.
Compensation: Up to $88,000 annually based on experience.
