Job Details for GED Instructor:
- Schedule: Monday–Thursday, 8:30 AM – 5:00 PM (NO Fridays!)
- Pay: $18–$22/hour (based on experience)
- Location: Newport News, VA
Job Description for GED Instructor:
- Deliver dynamic, goal-driven instruction to adult learners in GED, Digital Literacy, Soft Skills, and Industry Certification prep.
- Collaborate with college staff to develop and implement contextualized, accelerated curriculum plans.
- Administer assessments according to VADOE and vendor guidelines.
- Maintain accurate student records and track progress using official VADOE documentation.
- Support learners through personalized instruction and ongoing persistence planning, including a capstone project.
Job Requirements for GED Instructor:
- Bachelor’s degree in Education or a related field (required)
- Previous teaching experience; experience with adult learners is highly preferred
- Exceptional planning, organization, and interpersonal skills
- Strong collaboration skills to work with community college partners
- Commitment to adult education best practices and continuous improvement
