Job Description for Child Protective Services Specialist:
Conduct family assessments to evaluate safety risks, identify needs, and determine appropriate service plans for child and family well-being.
Manage active caseloads by coordinating services, maintaining ongoing contact with families, and monitoring the safety and progress of children in care.
Facilitate referrals for essential resources including emergency housing, food assistance, medical care, and mental health services.
Document all case activity in the Child Welfare Automated Information System (CWAIS), ensuring accurate, timely, and confidential record-keeping.
Collaborate with internal teams and community partners, providing updates and support to supervisors, colleagues, and external agencies involved in child welfare.
Job Requirements for Child Protective Services Specialist:
Bachelor's degree in Social Work, Psychology, Human Services, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
Previous experience in child welfare or social services is preferred.
Strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work independently while following general supervision.
Must pass a background check and pre-employment drug screening.
