- Simplifying complex information
- Identifying potential hazards
- Tracking changes made to the original document
ComponentsP&IDs include:
- Piping, including branches, reducers, and valves
- Equipment, such as pressure vessels, tanks, pumps, and compressors
- Instrumentation, such as gauges and valves
- Control interlocks
