Form Fab-Mig Welder Job Details:
- Schedule: Mon-Fri 4am-12:30pm or 5am-1:30pm
- Pay Rate: $22-$24 per hour depending on experience
Form Fab-Mig Welder Job Description:
Welding Operations:
- Perform MIG (Metal Inert Gas) welding on various metals and alloys.
- Ensure welding quality meets specified standards and blueprints.
- Set up welding machines based on job specifications and welding procedures.
Preparation and Assembly:
- Prepare metal surfaces for welding by cleaning, grinding, and cutting as needed.
- Assemble components for welding according to detailed specifications.
Quality Control:
- Inspect completed welds to ensure they meet specified standards and are free of defects.
- Perform regular maintenance checks on welding equipment to ensure optimal performance.
- Identify and troubleshoot issues with weld quality and machine operation.
Safety Compliance:
- Adhere to safety protocols and wear appropriate protective gear at all times.
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment to prevent accidents and hazards.
Documentation and Reporting:
- Keep detailed records of welding operations, including materials used, job time, and any issues encountered.
- Report any equipment malfunctions or safety concerns to supervisors.
Collaboration:
- Work closely with engineers, supervisors, and other team members to ensure project specifications and deadlines are met.
- Participate in team meetings and training sessions as required.
Form Fab-Mig Welder Job Requirements:
Education and Training:
- High school diploma or GED equivalent.
- Formal training or certification in MIG welding from a technical school or apprenticeship program.
Experience:
- Proven experience as a MIG welder, min 3 years in a manufacturing or construction setting.
- Familiarity with welding procedures and best practices.
Skills:
- Proficiency in MIG welding techniques and the ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings.
- Strong attention to detail and precision in welding tasks.
- Good hand-eye coordination and manual dexterity.
- Basic understanding of metallurgy and welding materials.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to stand, bend, and kneel for extended periods.
- Capability to lift and carry heavy objects, often weighing up to 50 pounds.
- Good vision, including the ability to distinguish between colors.
Technical Proficiency:
- Familiarity with various welding machines and tools.
- Ability to perform minor repairs and adjustments to welding equipment.
