Job Title: Millwright Helper
Pay Rate: $18.00 – $22.00 / hour
Location: Suffolk
Days -6AM-6PM
Position Summary
We are seeking a reliable and attentive Millwright Helper to join our team. In this role, you will work directly alongside the Millwright to maintain, monitor, and clean processing equipment to ensure efficient operations and high product quality.
Key Responsibilities
Equipment Operations & Monitoring: Assist in ensuring proper operation of shellers, gravities, vibrators, elevators, de-stoners, tin cats, tunnel and screw augers, and bag houses/cyclones. Verify peanut flow and inspect de-stoner and gravity rejects for correct sizing and separation.
Maintenance & Quality Checks: Check that sheller grates are sized correctly and sheller bars are not worn. Perform visual inspections of plexiglass view plates on gravities for breakage and conduct assigned Critical Control Point (CCP) checks.
Sanitation & Cleaning: Clean equipment components daily per Millwright instructions, including decks/screens, magnets, and the stick machine at the start of every shift. Complete daily paperwork such as sanitation checklists.
Safety & Compliance: Adhere to all Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs) and plant safety requirements to support facility safety goals.
Team Communication: Maintain ongoing communication with the gravity operator and supervisory staff.
Qualifications & Requirements
Knowledge of or ability to learn the operation of shellers, gravities, vibrators, elevators, and de-stoners.
Physical capability to perform all essential job duties and equipment checks.
Flexibility to work a adaptable schedule as needed.
Strong attention to detail and commitment to workplace safety and GMP standards.
