Position Overview
We are seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Quilting Machine Operator to join our manufacturing team. In this role, you will operate multi-needle quilting machines and related equipment to efficiently produce high-quality quilted mattress panels that meet our exact production and safety specifications.

Key Responsibilities
- Machine Set Up & Material Loading: Load and reload fabric, polyurethane foam, fiber rolls, backing materials, threads, and bobbins onto quilting equipment according to production orders.
- Equipment Operation & Calibration: Select proper quilting patterns, adjust needle positioning, and program computer controls for designated production runs.
- Cutting & Measurement: Measure and set panel cutting blades and adjust cutting machines to meet precise dimensions.
- In-Process Monitoring: Actively monitor machinery during operation using visual and sound cues to prevent equipment damage, material waste, and quality issues.
- Quality Control & Inspection: Measure and inspect finished panels to ensure proper dimensions, appearance, and stitching quality; identify skipped stitches and send panels for repair as needed.
- Routine Maintenance & Upkeep: Perform basic preventive maintenance, including lubricating machinery and keeping work areas clean, neat, and organized.
- Material Handling & Documentation: Retrieve required raw materials from storage areas and accurately document material transition lengths and production notes.
- Safety & Compliance: Adhere strictly to company safety standards, efficiency procedures, and regulatory guidelines at all times.
Qualifications & Requirements
- Minimum Age: Must be at least 18 years old.
- Physical Capabilities: Able to lift, push, pull, and move 50+ lbs regularly; possess strong eye/hand coordination and physical stamina.
- Math & Measurement Skills: Basic math skills, including the ability to read a ruler, perform addition and subtraction, and calculate fractions.
- Technical Aptitude: Comfort operating computer-controlled manufacturing machinery and basic hand tools.
- Detail-Oriented: Strong organizational skills with an eye for quality and visual consistency.
- Compliance & Professionalism: Ability to interpret and follow established safety rules, plant standards, and operating policies.
Work Environment & Physical Demands
- Standing, walking, reaching, and bending throughout the shift.
- Moving between production stations and storage areas to haul material rolls.
- Active manufacturing floor environment with moving machinery and moderate noise levels.
