The Winder Operator is responsible for handling finished plastic strapping products, ensuring quality standards are met, and safely packaging materials for shipment.
Key Responsibilities
- Operate winding equipment to produce coils according to work orders.
- Remove completed coils and restart the winding process.
- Assist with machine setup and stock packaging materials.
- Perform quality checks using measuring tools and verify product specifications.
- Count, band, label, package, and prepare coils for shipping or storage.
- Complete production reports and maintain accurate records.
- Follow safety procedures and keep the work area clean.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED preferred.
- 1-3 months of manufacturing or production experience.
- Ability to read work instructions and perform basic math calculations.
- Reliable attendance and commitment to workplace safety.
Physical Requirements
- Frequently lift up to 60 lbs.
- Stand and walk for extended periods.
- Work in a manufacturing environment with moving machinery, varying temperatures, and noise (hearing and eye protection required).
- Ability to bend, stoop, kneel, and crouch as needed.
Schedule
- Overtime and weekend work may be required based on production needs.
