Machine Operator Job Description:
As a Machine Operator, you will support the production team by assisting with the setup, operation, and monitoring of manufacturing equipment while ensuring quality and efficiency throughout the production process.
Responsibilities include:
- Assist with machine setup, startup, operation, and shutdown procedures
- Load raw materials into production equipment
- Monitor machines during operation and report any production issues
- Perform visual inspections and basic quality checks on finished products
- Package, label, and prepare finished goods according to specifications
- Assist with equipment changeovers, cleaning, and tooling preparation
- Maintain a clean, organized work area following 5S standards
- Follow all safety procedures and wear required PPE
- Transport raw materials and finished products using pallet jacks or forklifts (if certified)
- Assist with minor machine troubleshooting and adjustments as needed
Machine Operator Requirements:
- High school diploma or GED required
- Minimum of 1 year of machine operating experience in a manufacturing environment
- Ability to read, write, and communicate effectively in English
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Ability to stand and walk for up to 12-hour shifts
- Frequently bend, stoop, kneel, reach, and perform repetitive movements
- Ability to lift, push, pull, and carry up to 50 lbs.
- Comfortable working in a manufacturing environment with heat, noise, and moving machinery
- Ability to safely wear required PPE, including safety glasses, gloves, hearing protection, and steel-toe boots
