Warehouse Lead - 1st Shift
Location: Romeoville, IL
Pay: $23.00 - $24.00 per hour (based on experience)
Shift: 6:00 AM - 2:30 PM, Monday-Friday
Overtime/Flexibility: Must be available to start earlier or stay later as business needs require.
Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced Warehouse Lead to oversee daily warehouse operations and lead our Shipping and Receiving departments. This is a hands-on leadership role responsible for directing forklift operators and warehouse associates while ensuring inventory, shipping, receiving, and warehouse activities run efficiently and accurately.
The ideal candidate is a strong leader who can motivate a team, prioritize workloads, communicate effectively across departments, and maintain a safe and productive work environment.
Key Responsibilities
Lead and direct daily activities of forklift operators and warehouse personnel.
Oversee all shipping and receiving operations.
Schedule inbound and outbound loads to ensure on-time deliveries and pickups.
Utilize warehouse systems to identify inventory that needs to be moved, picked, loaded, received, or verified.
Coordinate and monitor inventory movements throughout the facility.
Ensure accurate receiving, storage, and shipment of products.
Work closely with production and warehouse teams to support operational goals.
Train, coach, and motivate employees while maintaining accountability.
Monitor productivity, quality, and safety standards.
Assist with inventory control and warehouse organization.
Troubleshoot operational issues and implement effective solutions.
Qualifications
Previous experience as a Warehouse Lead, Shipping Lead, Receiving Lead, or Warehouse Supervisor.
Forklift experience required.
Experience in a manufacturing environment preferred.
Strong understanding of shipping, receiving, inventory control, and warehouse operations.
Computer proficiency, including email, spreadsheets, and warehouse management systems.
Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
Ability to lead by example and effectively manage multiple priorities.
High level of accountability and attention to detail.
