Base Salary: $175,000–$190,000 DOE + Bonus + Comprehensive Benefits
Book of Business Required: Approximately $500K–$600K

Our client, a well-established Chicago law firm, is seeking an Employment Litigation Partner to join its growing Labor & Employment Practice.
This opportunity is designed for an attorney with an established employer-side employment litigation practice who wants a collaborative platform to continue growing their book of business while working alongside experienced attorneys across multiple practice areas.
The firm offers sophisticated employment litigation work, meaningful cross-selling opportunities, direct client relationships, and a realistic path to Equity Partnership.
Annual billable expectation: 1,600 hours.
What You'll Handle
Represent employers in a wide range of employment law matters, including:
- Employment litigation
- Discrimination, harassment, and retaliation claims
- Wage & Hour litigation
- EEOC and administrative proceedings
- Class and collective actions
- Restrictive covenant and trade secret disputes
- Workplace investigations
- Employment counseling and compliance
- Executive employment agreements
Responsibilities
- Manage employment litigation matters from inception through resolution.
- Represent employers in state and federal court, arbitrations, mediations, and administrative proceedings.
- Handle discovery, depositions, motion practice, hearings, and trial preparation.
- Draft pleadings, motions, briefs, and settlement agreements.
- Counsel employers on employment law compliance, workplace policies, investigations, and risk management.
- Continue developing and expanding your existing client relationships.
- Collaborate with attorneys across Corporate, Litigation, Real Estate, Tax, and Estate Planning practices to provide comprehensive legal solutions.
- Contribute to the continued growth of the Labor & Employment Practice.
Qualifications
- J.D. from an accredited law school.
- Active Illinois Bar license.
- 7–10+ years of employer-side employment litigation experience.
- Portable book of business of approximately $500,000–$600,000.
- Strong experience with:
- Employment litigation
- Discovery
- Depositions
- Motion practice
- Oral arguments
- Trial preparation
- Excellent legal writing, analytical, negotiation, and client relationship skills.
- Demonstrated business development success.
