Kitting Technician
Location: Hanover, MD
Shifts Available:
- 2nd Shift: Monday – Thursday, 6:30 PM – 5:30 AM
Pay Rate: $20.00 – $21.00/hour (based on experience)
Shift differential may apply for 2nd shift
Position Overview
We are seeking detail-oriented and dependable Kitting Technicians to join a growing manufacturing operation in Hanover, MD. This role focuses on assembling and preparing kits of pre-fabricated copper components to support production and customer orders. Ideal candidates will have strong attention to detail, good manual dexterity, and the ability to identify and address quality concerns in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Assemble and organize pre-fabricated copper components into kits according to work instructions and production schedules
- Inspect parts for quality issues such as defects, damage, or inconsistencies prior to kitting
- Ensure accuracy and completeness of all kits before release to production or shipment
- Handle and organize small-to-medium sized components with precision and care
- Follow detailed instructions, bills of materials, and job order requirements
- Maintain clean, organized, and safe workstations
- Label, package, and stage finished kits appropriately
- Record production data and report discrepancies or shortages
- Communicate effectively with team members, supervisors, and quality personnel
- Support inventory control efforts, including counting and tracking materials
- Adhere to all safety procedures and company policies
Qualifications
- Previous experience in assembly, kitting, warehouse, or manufacturing environments preferred
- Strong attention to detail and ability to identify defects or inconsistencies
- Good hand-eye coordination and manual dexterity
- Ability to follow written and verbal instructions accurately
- Basic understanding of quality control processes is a plus
- Reliable attendance and strong work ethic
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Work Environment & Physical Requirements
- Light to moderate lifting (up to 50 lbs)
- Frequent use of hands for handling small parts and components
- Standing, bending, and reaching throughout the shift
- Manufacturing/warehouse environment with exposure to noise and production activity
- Use of PPE as required, including safety glasses and gloves
