Medical Collections Specialist
Location: Gibbsboro, NJ 08026
Schedule: Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM
Pay: $20/hour
Type: 4-Month Contract-to-Hire
PeopleShare is currently hiring a Medical Collections Specialist for a well-established company with over 25 years of success in the medical collections industry. What You’ll Do
- Manage and follow up on outstanding patient accounts to ensure timely collections
- Communicate with patients via phone, email, and mail regarding past-due balances and payment arrangements
- Build and maintain positive, professional relationships while showing empathy and understanding
- Review and resolve payer denials and billing discrepancies accurately and efficiently
- Document all account activity and communications within the billing system
- Collaborate with internal billing and customer service teams to ensure account accuracy
- Maintain strict confidentiality and comply with HIPAA regulations
- Meet or exceed daily and monthly collection goals
What We’re Looking For
- 1–2 years of collections experience (first- or third-party)
- Strong communication and negotiation skills
- Ability to work with diverse individuals and resolve payment-related concerns
- Knowledge of medical billing terminology (co-pays, deductibles, etc.) is a plus
- Experience reviewing and resolving payer denials preferred
- High attention to detail, accuracy, and follow-through
- High school diploma or equivalent required
Compensation & Growth
- $20/hour during contract period
- Upon permanent hire: eligibility for commission and bonuses, with first-year earning potential of $50,000–$60,000
